São Paulo – The emirate of Dubai, known for its luxury and record-breaking giant buildings, has just unveiled the world’s deepest pool. With an underwater city complete with an apartment, garage and arcade, among other settings, at a depth of 60 meters and a total area of 1,500 square meters. Deep Dive Dubai holds 14 million liters of water, the equivalent of six Olympic swimming pools, kept at a temperature of 30⁰C, which is apparently ideal for diving.
The pool welcomes both beginner and professional divers and promises a unique experience, unlike any other pool in the world. Novices in the activity can safely explore the controlled environment with 56 underwater cameras.
Shaped like a giant oyster, the building was inspired by the tradition in the United Arab Emirates of diving for oysters to find pearls, with archaeological evidence dating back over 7,000 years.
Located in the Nad Al Sheba neighborhood, Deep Dive Dubai has been officially verified by Guinness World Records as the deepest pool in the world.
It offers many activities, such as exploration diving for beginners, scuba diving, free diving, and courses and workshops for all levels, from beginners to technical instructors. Deep Dive Dubai also has the largest underwater film studio in the region and can host events for up to 100 people with on-site catering options.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the pool’s freshwater is filtered and circulated every six hours through siliceous volcanic rock, NASA-developed filter technology, and UV radiation.
The venue is presently open to guests only, but tickets for the end of July can be purchased now through the website.
