At a meeting held in Brasília with delegations from 40 African countries, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said Brazil has a debt to the continent that can be repaid through solidarity, technology transfer, and assistance for the development of local agriculture.

Representatives from Embrapa, ABC agency, and the Inter-American Institute signed a letter of intent to promote technical cooperation between Brazil and African countries. The g took place during a seminar aimed at fostering dialogue with the continent.
