Coordinated by Safa Jubran, a group of professionals translating between Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese has become a platform for collectively addressing the challenges of the profession and has been contributing to the expansion of Arabic literature’s presence in Brazil.

Her first book, Near to the Wild Heart, was translated from Portuguese into Arabic by Safa Jubran. Lispector is one of the greatest names of Brazil’s 20th-century literature. Official launch took place in the Guimarães Rosa Institute in Beirut.

A Brazil-based publishing house focused on publishing books by authors from the Middle East and North Africa has launched a book club for Arab literature lovers. The first meeting takes place on August 18 about the novel The Night Mail by Hoda Barakat.
