Tunis – Tunisia posted a 3.5% drop in exports and a 3.1% decrease in imports in the first five months of 2019, compared to the same period of 2018, according to figures provided by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) and published at the news agency TAP. The figures are in of volumes.
In revenue, however, exports reached DT 19. 6 billion (USD 6.3 billion), up 15.1%, while imports reached DT 27.7 billion (USD 9 billion).
In volume, exports of textile, clothing and leather sector, energy sector and agriculture decreased. On the other hand, exports of phosphate, mining and energy derivatives increased.
